The King Husein Global Business & Intercultural Peace International Award in Social Investment and Philanthropy goes to Professor Maurizio Bragagni OBE, Chairman and CEO of Tratos UK Ltd. Under his leadership, Tratos has purposely invested in disadvantaged areas and regions of the world, with a clear focus on uplifting the whole community. In addition to his leadership in the cable-making industry, he is the co-founder and chairman of the E-share-life Foundation. In 2016, he founded E-share-life, a global grant-making charity aimed at improving the lives of disadvantaged people around the world through giving young people access to better education. Esharelife activities range from helping children in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya, to being among the first charities to support an online appeal to help people suffering from the war in Ukraine, to providing urgent assistance to Afghan women and girls who are facing grave threats from the Taliban. Whether navigating the intricate dynamics of business or advancing humanitarian efforts, Maurizio’s commitment to building bridges among diverse cultures is unwavering. Maurizio was nominated by 2016 Global Business & Peace Award Winner, Baroness Emma Nicholson, demonstrating the global connectedness of the world’s business and peace-building champions.
Prof. Maurizio Bragagni OBE, a respected business leader and philanthropist, chairs the Esharelife Foundation and is CEO of Tratos Ltd in the Tratos Group, a prominent independent cable manufacturer. As a Chartered Director and Institute of Directors Fellow, he emphasises on robust corporate governance. He holds an Honorary Senior Visiting Fellowship at City University of London’s Bayes Business School, and is a Visiting Professor at the University of Bolton, contributing to leadership and research in sustainability, circular economy, energy security, and net-zero emissions. Bragagni also plays active roles in various community initiatives, and serves as Consul for San Marino in the UK, among other responsibilities.
