The King Husein Global Business & Interfaith Peace Awards honor visionary current and former CEOs who advance interfaith understanding and social cohesion through business leadership. The next Awards will take place in London 12-14 October 2026 as part of Dare to Overcome: The Economics of Kindness.

Dare to Overcome (DTO)

Dare to Overcome is the premier global gathering of business leaders committed to fostering peace through values-driven leadership. It celebrates best practices, virtues, and inclusive approaches that unite diverse communities, faiths, and cultures in workplaces and marketplaces worldwide.

Award Categories

Awardees demonstrate leadership in advancing interfaith understanding in one or more of the following areas which show how principled enterprise can bridge differences, build trust in workplaces and marketplaces, and inspire a more peaceful world.

Core Business

This includes internal procedures, human resources hiring practices, training, product/service development, sourcing policies, supply chains, as well as the development of products and services that promote interfaith understanding and peace.

Social Investment & Philanthropy

Financial and in-kind contributions, and strategic social investment support for NGOs, UN and/or multilateral agencies or directly to affected communities and/or contribution of functional expertise through volunteering efforts.

Advocacy & Public Policy Engagement

Fostering social cohesion and inter-group dialogue and relationship-building in the workplace, marketplace and local community, including joining forces with Governments, UN entities, civil society organizations and/or other businesses to act collectively to promote interfaith understanding and peace and forge long-term partnerships for local or regional economic and sustainable development.


About King Husein

The Awards are named in honor of King Husein, Founding Patron of Dare to Overcome India. An Indian-origin U.S. citizen, King Husein is Chairman and CEO of Span Construction & Engineering, the largest metal construction company in the U.S. He received the 2021 Global Business & Interfaith Peace Prize in Advocacy.

History

Established in 2016, the Awards were originally presented alongside the Paralympic Games as part of former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s UN Global Compact Business for Peace initiative. Past editions were held in:
